What is a typical worship service like?

Our Sunday church service is a relaxed, yet inspirational weekly gathering. Come into the service to worship and praise God with all that you are, body, soul and mind. Worship typically starts with some opening, shared praise and worship songs. We share in a call to worship, an opening prayer and the scripture passage for the day. A children's time leads into the pastor's message. We respond to God's word, with a time of prayer where the congregation is supported with prayer and love during celebrations and trials. The service generally lasts about 60 minutes and usually ends around 11:10.

Communion

Communion (one of the 2 sacraments within the United Methodist Church) is typically served on the first Sunday of each month. We receive by intinction, that is, we invite people to come down the center aisle, receive a piece of bread, and then dip it into the cup. You then return to your seat by the side aisle. Communion is open to all people and is by invitation.

There are individually sealed communion elements available (that are gluten free) for those who wish. For those who would like to be served in the pew, please let a greeter/usher know so that we may accommodate your needs.

What kind of music is in the worship?

The music in the church is generally a mixture of favorite hymns and more contemporary praise and worship songs.

Who is involved in the worship service?

It takes many different gifts to make the Sunday service flow smoothly and be meaningful each week. There are many volunteer opportunities in the worship realm: technology, music, reading, ushering, being an acolyte, greeting. If you are interested in any aspect of the church worship experience, please send comments or questions to Pastor Dianne Ciesluk or Office Administrator, Jessica at church 507-895-2373.
